We're Hooray & Co., and we're thrilled to share a little about who we are and what makes us tick. You may know us as Hooray Sock Co. – yes, that's us! We've recently made a small name tweak to better reflect our expanding product lines. But fear not, socks are still at the heart of what we do!

Founded by Hongsun Yoon and Tim Carpenter in 2017, Hooray began life in a tiny apartment in Noe Valley, San Francisco. After receiving our MFAs from California College of Art and tying the knot, we hatched a plan to bring colorful, well-made socks to the world. Inspired by our love of color, form, and patterns, we set out to create a brand that celebrates individuality and self-expression. You can read more about our early days here on our blog.

Like many small businesses, it took us some time to learn the ropes — from finding quality manufacturing partners to jumping into wholesale. Along the way, our values have always remained the same: our love of art and design, our love of creating things together, and our mission to spread happiness through our work. Add to that our belief that life is too short not to chase your dreams.

In 2018, we launched hooraysocks.com and introduced Hooray to San Francisco at the Outside Lands Marketplace, Westcoast Craft, and Renegade Craft events. The next year, our colorful socks had begun to find a home in hundreds of boutiques across the US and Canada. And in 2022, an exciting opportunity came our way - a pop-up event at Madewell, a significant milestone as our sock designs made their way into a major retailer's store.
